Walchesky Law

About Ian
Ian C. Walchesky
With more than two decades of experience, I have represented individuals, businesses, government agencies, and families in matters involving traffic defense, criminal defense, estate planning, appeals, and many other practice areas over that time. My work is grounded in careful listening, practical strategy, and clear communication.
A steady, strategic approach
I believe that good legal representation should be calm, direct, and focused on the client’s long-term interests. I aim to help clients understand their options, weigh the likely consequences, and make informed decisions with confidence.
What clients can expect
Walchesky Law is built around a simple promise:
- Personal attention from the attorney handling the matter
- Thoughtful legal strategy tailored to the facts of the case
- Clear communication at each stage of the process
- Practical solutions that reflect the client’s goals and budget
Why clients choose me
Clients value my honesty, responsiveness, and willingness to provide straightforward advice. I don’t believe in unnecessary conflict, unnecessary fees, or pressure tactics. My goal is to help clients move forward with clarity and confidence.
When not practicing law, I value family, community, and time well spent. I am committed to serving clients in a way that is respectful, dependable, and grounded in real-world judgment. In my spare time, I like to go to Carowinds and the Whitewater Center with my family, shoot clays in the Trap League at the Charlotte Rifle & Pistol Club, travel (particularly to a beach), and relax at home with a guitar.
From Ian
I have practiced law in Pennsylvania and North Carolina for more than twenty years, with extensive experience in state and federal courts in both civil and criminal cases. My family has planted roots in Huntersville, and my goal is to serve our community by providing affordable, quality legal representation with no surprises and no gimmicks. An attorney/client relationship is fundamentally based on trust and confidence, and I want to earn both from my clients. In that regard, clients can always trust me to be honest and straightforward. I will never recommend a course of action in any matter that is not 100% in my client’s best interests.
Hopefully, you will come to find your experience with me to be professional, yet also casual. Any time someone needs a lawyer, it’s a serious situation and carries a lot of stress. However, I like to develop more meaningful relationships with my clients, encouraging true dialogue rather than a stuffy “This is how it is” atmosphere. That’s why, although I take your matters seriously, I maintain a personable, conversational tone and like to keep interactions relaxed.
Oh, and unless I’m actually in a courtroom, you won’t catch me in a suit (despite my photo on this page).
